The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the city.

Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Warrior Group

According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are rare.

At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.

The traitor then paid off his liabilities and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the team access locations they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.

This leaves them no alternative but to head to the northern region in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Explorers and Planners tables.

Fans can expect learning which players will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, released on next week.
